By: Winnipeg Tribune Staff Writer - Tragedy struck at the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex as a Winnipeg teenage boy from Churchill High School tragically passed away following a medical incident at a Winnipeg recreation complex.


The City of Winnipeg is launching an investigation into the heartbreaking event. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service crews responded to the distress call at 4:39 p.m. on Monday, discovering the young patron unresponsive in the pool area.


Despite efforts to save him, the boy succumbed to his condition after being rushed to the hospital. Winnipeg Police confirmed the devastating news to media outlets, revealing that the boy was not part of any school trip at the time of the incident.


The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex was temporarily closed for the remainder of Monday, but reopened Tuesday.
