A WOMAN'S BODY HAS BEEN FOUND IN WINNIPEG LANDFILL

Tuesday, April 4, 2023 - Winnipeg Police informed the public today that on April 3 at the Police Service received a report of a deceased individual found at the Brady Road Resource Management Facility.

The deceased was located in an active landfill cell by City of Winnipeg staff at the city-run landfill and has been identified as Linda Mary Beardy, a 33-year-old female.


Winnipeg Police Inspector Shawn Pike said the death is suspicious and is being investigated by the homicide unit and that Beardy’s body appears to have not been in the landfill for a long time.


This investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
