Sunday, April 9, 2023 - On Saturday night just before midnight Police, along with the Canine Unit (K9), located a 40-year-old man suffering from severe upper-body injuries sustained from a stabbing. He was taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable. Two suspects fled on foot before police arrived.

Shortly thereafter, Air 1 assisted the police in locating one of the suspects who was arrested. Investigators learned that the victim was walking in the 1100 block of Logan Avenue when the suspects approached him and demanded his property at knifepoint. Without provocation, one of the suspects stabbed the victim resulting in significant upper-body injuries. Both suspects fled on foot, and the victim ran to safety for assistance.

The suspect and victim are not previously known to one another. One suspect remains outstanding.

A 24-year old man from Winnipeg faces numerous charges including robbery.
