Another Fatal Stabbing Incident in Winnipeg: Suspect in Custody

Winnipeg, December 21, 2023 - Wednesday morning Winnipeg Police responded to a stabbing in the vicinity of Talbot Avenue and Watt Street. At around 8:00 a.m., officers arrived at the scene and discovered an injured adult male in critical condition.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Ivan Rubanik, who was swiftly transported to a local hospital. Regrettably, despite medical efforts, Mr. Rubanik was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Winnipeg Police Service's Homicide Unit has initiated an investigation and have arrested a 19-year-old male in connection with the stabbing, and he is currently in police custody, facing charges related to the incident.
