Argument at a Winnipeg Bus Shelter Results in Woman Being Stabbed


Tuesday, August 15, 2023 - Winnipeg Police are investigating the stabbing of a 28-year old woman on Sunday night just before 8:00 pm on Ellice Avenue.


Upon arrival police found the 28-year-old female victim suffering from multiple stab wounds and quickly provided emergency medical care using a tourniquet before the ambulance arrived.


Police have said the victim was taken to the hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable. Officers arrested two adult female suspects without incident.

Investigators learned the victim approached the suspects occupying a bus shelter when a verbal argument ensued. The verbal argument escalated to a physical assault where one of the suspects produced a knife and stabbed the victim multiple times, causing serious injuries to the victim.

The suspects and the victim were not previously known to one another.

Crystal Mary Helen BEARDY, 46, of Winnipeg, is charged with Aggravated Assault and was detained in custody.

A 33-year-old female from Winnipeg was also arrested and facing the charge of Aggravated Assault. She was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
