Children Injured After Shots Were FIred toward their Vehicle


Tuesday, August 1, 2023 - A vehicle driving near Maryland and Sargent was struck by a bullet injuring children in the car.


Police said they were alerted to the shooting around 10:00 pm on July 30th. On July 30th. General Patrol officers, AIR1, and the K9 Unit responded.

Police located the vehicle driver and two child occupants (10-12 years old) who were injured from the shattering glass of the vehicle’s window.

The children were treated at hospital for minor injuries and released.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, and investigators do not believe the shots were intended for the victim’s vehicle, but may be part of a drug conflict.
