City Provides Funding to 19 Community Centres

Wednesday, June 28, 2023 - The City of Winnipeg has named 19 City-owned community centres to receive funding for renovations. The grants, totalling $1,259,466 come from the Community Centre Renovation Grant Program. The money will allow community centres to undertake repairs, upgrades and safety improvements.


The community centres receiving grants totaling $1,259,466 are:

  • Bord-Aire

  • Champlain

  • Deer Lodge

  • East Elmwood

  • Gateway

  • Glenwood

  • Morse Place

  • North Kildonan

  • Northwood

  • Norwood

  • Park City West

  • Robert A. Steen

  • Southdale

  • Sturgeon Heights

  • Tyndall Park

  • Valley Gardens

  • Vince Leah

  • Whyte Ridge

  • Wildwood

The program ensures that City-owned, board-run community centres can access much-needed assistance required to complete facility repairs, upgrades, retrofits, safety improvements, and renovation projects.

The program has two intake periods each year: a spring intake in March and a fall intake in October. Since the program’s inception in 2012, the City has invested over $15.7 million towards community centre renovations across Winnipeg.
