By: Staff Writer I Winnipeg Tribune

Winnipeg, December 28, 2023 - The Winnipeg Jets put forth a good effort on Wednesday night, but it was the Chicago Blackhawks who earned the extra point in overtime at the United Center.

Winnipeg's Morgan Barron opened the scoring for the Jets, but it was Connor Bedard who ultimately stole the spotlight. Bedard, who has been a standout performer for the Chicago Blackhawks this season, showcased his exceptional skills with two critical goals, including the overtime winner.

Bedard's game-winning goal came just 2:13 into the extra frame, as he fired a low, blistering wrist shot past Jets' goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. The goal not only secured the victory for Chicago but also marked Bedard's first career overtime winner.

The Jets have an opportunity to bounce back as they return home to host the Minnesota Wild on Saturday afternoon.
