Winnipeg. December 10, 2023 - The Detroit Red Wings faced a setback during Saturday's clash against the Ottawa Senators, ending in a disheartening 5-1 loss at Little Caesars Arena. The game took a distressing turn in the first period when Red Wings' leader, Dylan Larkin, suffered a severe collision following a cross-check.

With just over six minutes left in the opening frame, Larkin was hit from behind by Senators' Mathieu Joseph, leading to a subsequent collision with Ottawa's Parker Kelly. The impact left Larkin motionless near the opposing crease, prompting immediate medical attention from Detroit's staff. Though a stretcher was prepared, Larkin eventually exited the ice with assistance from teammates Shayne Gostisbehere and Robby Fabbri.

Unfortunately, Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde provided no update on Larkin's condition postgame, and the captain did not return to the match. Concerns linger over Larkin's status, leaving uncertainty about his imminent return to the lineup. Fans anxiously await further updates on the captain's health and recovery.
