CYCLIST INJURED IN HIT & RUN WITH A GARBAGE TRUCK


Wednesday, May 18, 2022 - Early this morning, around 5:00 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist at the intersection of Erin Street and Sargent Avenue.

Police found a seriously injured male in his thirties. He was transported to hospital in critical condition, where he remains.

An initial investigation indicates the cyclist was struck by a garbage truck at this intersection, which subsequently drove away.

Investigators from the Traffic Division seek the public’s assistance in identifying the truck and the driver. Anyone with information that can assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-7085.
