Winnipeg, March 22, 2024 - Manitoba RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Wednesday, March 20, following reports of a vehicle discovered off the roadway near Milner Ridge Road, also known as Seddons Corner, along Highway 44.

Upon arrival at the scene, RCMP identified a deceased male and observed extensive damage to the vehicle involved in the collision. Subsequent investigation revealed that the fatal incident occurred the previous evening, around 10:30 pm on March 19th.

According to preliminary findings, the vehicle, traveling westbound on Highway 44, veered off course, striking the south shoulder before overcorrecting and crossing the highway. The vehicle then careened into the north ditch, ultimately colliding with a tree amidst the dense bush. Investigators suspect that speed played a significant role in the sequence of events leading to the collision.

The sole occupant and driver of the vehicle, identified as a 20-year-old resident of Tyndall, tragically succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash. The identity of the deceased has not been publicly released pending notification of next of kin.

In response to the incident, RCMP deployed a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist to aid in the ongoing investigation.
