GOOD SAMARITANS ROBBED AFTER STOPPING TO HELP STUCK VEHICLE


Three good Samaritans were robbed and carjacked after they attempted to help a vehicle stuck in the snow in St. Theresa Point First Nation.


The three suspects pulled a knife and assaulted the 20 year old driver with the knife and taser. He was pulled from his vehicle and the suspects drove off in the stolen pickup truck with the two female passengers still inside. They were released a short time later with no injuries. The driver was taken to the nursing station for treatment for his injuries.


The investigation led to the arrest of Gino Monias, 31, Irvin Harper, 32, and Taylia Wood, 30, all from St. Theresa Point First Nation, who have since been remanded into custody on numerous charges including Kidnapping, Robbery, Assault with a Weapon, Uttering Threats, and other weapons-related offences.
