House Fire on Manitoba Avenue


Sunday, December 11, 2022 - Saturday, shortly after 4:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire in one-and-a-half storey house on Manitoba Avenue.


When WFPS arrived on scene bystanders indicated there may be occupants trapped in the house. While conducting a search of the house, firefighters also worked to extinguish the fire. No occupants were found and the fire was declared under control at 4:37 p.m.


Two people were assessed by on-scene paramedics. Neither required a trip to the hospital. No other injuries were reported. The City’s Emergency Social Services team assisted displaced residents in finding temporary accommodations.


The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
