Man on Probation Stabs Olive Garden Employee

Winnipeg Police have made an arrest after a female employee of the Olive Garden was stabbed last evening.

An 18 year-old female employee was approached by a man and without provocation, he began repeatedly stabbing her before running away. Good Samaritans at the restaurant began administering first aid until help arrived. The employee was taken to hospital and is now in stable condition.

Police found the suspect on Regent Avenue and after a brief struggle he was taken into custody. A sharp edged weapon was seized as evidence. There is not believed to be any connection between the suspect and the victim and the attack was completely unprovoked.

27 year-old Robert Alan Ingram is charged with the following offences:

- Aggravated Assault

- Possession of a Weapon

- Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He remains in custody.
