Medical Response Bag Containing Medications Stolen at Winnipeg Bus Stop


Winnipeg, October 2, 2023 - The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) issued a public advisory following the theft of a medical response bag containing medications from an emergency scene. The incident occurred at a bus stop in the vicinity of Sargent Avenue and Sherbrook Street on Saturday, September 30, 2023.


Officials have confirmed that none of the medications inside the stolen kit include narcotics. However, residents are sternly warned against consuming any of the medications without medical supervision, as they can pose serious health risks, including fatality.


The medications within the stolen bag are primarily meant to provide symptomatic relief and are utilized during patient resuscitation efforts. Most of these medications are administered intravenously and are packaged in vials; therefore, they should not be ingested orally.


The Winnipeg Police Service has been notified about the incident, and an active investigation is underway. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen bag and medications to immediately contact the Winnipeg Police Service at 204-986-6222.


Simultaneously, the WFPS is conducting an internal investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the theft and to prevent future occurrences of this nature.


The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities promptly. Further updates on the investigation will be provided as soon as available.
