Multiple People Dead and Injured After Winnipeg Shooting Early Today

Winnipeg, November 26, 2023 - In a violent incident early this morning, Winnipeg Police responded to a shooting that left three dead and two fighting for their lives in the 100 block of Langside shortly after 4 a.m.


At a press briefing outside police headquarters, Public Information Officer Jason Michalyshen revealed that an adult man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others—two men and a woman—were taken to the hospital in critical condition. One of the men taken to hospital didn't survive his injuries.


The identities of the deceased victims are pending confirmation, as authorities are in the process of notifying their families. The Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation.


The scene remained cordoned off by at least five police vehicles, blocking Langside from Sara Avenue to Westminster Avenue, while forensic teams diligently worked through the morning, indicating a protracted investigative process ahead.
