Passenger Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash

St Pierre-Jolys, November 6, 2023 – A collision at the intersection of Highway 75 and Provincial Road 305 in the RM of Ritchot on the evening of November 5, resulted in one fatality and left another individual with serious injuries.

The St Pierre-Jolys RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision at the busy crossroads. The preliminary investigation has revealed that a vehicle, occupied by two individuals, was traveling eastbound on Provincial Road 305 when it approached the perilous junction with Highway 75. Tragically, the vehicle continued through the intersection and collided with a northbound semi-trailer.

The collision had devastating consequences. The 40-year-old female driver of the eastbound vehicle, hailing from Winnipeg, suffered serious but thankfully non-life-threatening injuries. She was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

However, the news was more somber for the 43-year-old female passenger in the same vehicle, a resident of Ste Agathe. She was ejected from the vehicle upon impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 21-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer, a resident of Winnipeg had no physical injuries.

The St Pierre-Jolys RCMP, in collaboration with an RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, are tirelessly working to uncover the facts and details that led to this fatal collision. As the investigation progresses, the community remains in shock and mourning the loss of a fellow neighbor.
