Pedestrian struck by tractor-trailer on Henderson Highway

Winnipeg, April 19, 2024 - Yesterday evening, around 7:15 p.m., the Winnipeg Police responded to a severe motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 1000 block of Henderson Highway.


Upon arrival, police were informed by the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service that the pedestrian had been rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The pedestrian, identified as a 33-year-old woman from Winnipeg, continues to receive medical care and remains in serious condition.


Following an investigation by the Traffic Collision Investigation Unit, it was determined that the pedestrian had walked in front of a northbound tractor-trailer when the tragic incident occurred. The collision resulted in severe injuries to the pedestrian. Fortunately, the driver, who was the sole occupant of the involved tractor-trailer, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers.
