Winnipeg, March 19, 2024 - The Winnipeg Police responded to a series of incidents involving a male suspect, culminating in his arrest in connection with a hit-and-run collision and a daring robbery at a local mall.


The string of events began on March 18, around 12:25 p.m., when a male driver operating a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was involved in a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Chief Peguis Trail and Lagimodiere Boulevard. Rather than following exchanging details with the other driver, the man fled the scene.


Shortly thereafter, the same suspect made his way to a mall in the 2300 block of McPhillips Street. Armed with a hatchet and his identity concealed, he entered a jewelry store within the mall and began smashing glass display cases, making off with a significant haul of stolen items.


However, around 2:45 p.m., police located the suspect in the same vehicle parked on Broadway and arrested him. .


The suspect was identified as Nathan Richard Dunsmore, a 24-year-old individual. He now faces a slew of charges, including robbery, disguise with intent, and failure to comply with a probation order.
