Police Make Arrest in String of Break and Enters


Two Winnipeg men face multiple charges after a string of break and enters to businesses and community centres between February and May 2023.


- A business on Watt Street - tools and equipment valued at over $14,000 was stolen

- Chalmers Community Club - tools and equipment valued at over $5,000 was stolen

- Chalmers Community Club - tools and equipment valued at over $6,000 was stolen

- Chalmers Community Club – an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and trailer valued at $7,000 was stolen

- A storage facility on Archibald Street – an undetermined amount of property stolen


After investigating, police executed a search warrant at a home on Thames Avenue and recovered some of the stolen equipment along with over $1,200.


29 year-old Joseph Desmond Hoebee is charged with:

- Break Enter & Theft x 5

- Possession of Break In Instruments

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000


25 year-old Nicolas Ronald Hoebee is charged with:

- Break Enter & Theft x 5

- Possession of Break In Instruments

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

They were detained in custody.
