Red-Hot Goaltender Samuel Ersson Ends Winnipeg Jets' Eight-Game Winning Streak

Winnipeg, January 14, 2024 - The Winnipeg Jets' remarkable eight-game winning streak came to an abrupt end on Sunday night at the hands of Samuel Ersson in the net. Ersson's remarkable performance saw him stop 35 shots to secure a 2-0 victory for the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.

Despite the loss, the Jets have reason to hold their heads high. Their defense extended their streak of allowing three goals or fewer to an impressive 32 consecutive games.

Connor Hellebuyck, also delivered an outstanding performance, making 34 saves in an effort to keep his team in the game. However, the relentless pressure from the Flyers proved too much to handle, as they managed to capitalize on two crucial scoring opportunities.

Looking ahead, the Winnipeg Jets will have a chance to regroup as they prepare to close out their four-game homestand on Tuesday against the New York Islanders.
