Winnipeg, April 9, 2024: The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a distressing scene yesterday evening, following reports of a severe accident at the intersection of Dunkirk Drive and Parkville Drive.


At approximately 5:40 p.m., police responded to an accident involving a pick-up truck and a passenger vehicle. The collision resulted in critical injuries to the 41-year-old driver of the passenger vehicle, who was transported to the hospital, as of the latest update, the individual remains in critical condition. Additionally, two children who were passengers in the vehicle were also taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.


Fortunately, the 45-year-old driver of the pick-up truck, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigating officers.


Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has pertinent information, including video or dash camera footage, to come forward and assist in the investigation.
