Shooting Incident in Winnipeg’s Main Street Area Leaves Victim Hospitalized


Winnipeg, September 30, 2023 – A shocking incident unfolded on Thursday evening around 9:45 p.m., as the Winnipeg Police Service swiftly responded to reports of a shooting at a vendor in the 800 block of Main Street.

Upon arrival, officers from the General Patrol and the Tactical Support Team (TST) discovered a male victim in his 30s suffering from a gunshot wound. The TST promptly secured the area, ensuring the safety of the public. The injured individual was rushed to the hospital in unstable condition; however, medical professionals later upgraded his status, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the grim situation.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating this incident. Authorities are urging anyone with pertinent information, particularly regarding the male suspect involved, to come forward and assist law enforcement in their inquiries.
