Winnipeg, April 12, 2024 - Over the course of two days, a string of commercial robberies rattled businesses along Henderson Highway, prompting a response from the Winnipeg Police. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Aaron Braiden Beaupre of Winnipeg, allegedly targeted gas stations and convenience stores, brandishing a knife and threatening employees for money and cigarettes.

The series of incidents began on April 7th, when a gas bar in the 900 block of Henderson Hwy fell victim to the assailant. During the robbery, an employee was stabbed, leading to an intense manhunt. The violence continued to escalate until April 9th, culminating in multiple robberies at various establishments along the same stretch of road.

Beaupre reportedly carried out his crimes with brazen determination. However, his luck ran out when he attempted another robbery at a convenience store he had previously targeted that morning. A police cruiser, patrolling the area, spotted an altercation in progress and intervened, leading to a short pursuit before Beaupre was apprehended.

The arrest came amidst concerns that the suspect was under the influence of methamphetamine drugs, shedding light on the potential factors contributing to his criminal behavior. Following his capture, Beaupre was promptly taken into custody and charged with a total of 21 offenses, including robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons-related charges.
