Winnipeg, April 19, 2024 - Thursday shortly after noon, the Winnipeg Police responded to a stabbing call from the first block of Jorowski Cove.

Police found a 21-year-old male victim suffering from upper body injuries sustained from the stabbing. Officers administered emergency medical care, including the application of chest seals, before the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His condition later stabilized.

According to the Major Crimes Unit, it was revealed that the suspect and the victim, who were acquainted prior to the incident, were together in a residence. A verbal altercation between the two escalated dramatically when the suspect brandished a machete, striking the victim multiple times and inflicting severe injuries.
