WInnipeg, December 2, 2023 - Thursday, November 30, tragedy struck on Highway 75 just north of Letellier as a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman from Winnipeg. The incident, reported at 8:00 am, prompted a response from officers at the Emerson RCMP Detachment.


Details emerging from investigators reveal a tragic sequence of events. A southbound vehicle veered off the road, careening into the ditch, before inexplicably re-entering the northbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision with a northbound semi-trailer.


The impact was catastrophic, with the driver of the southbound vehicle tragically losing her life at the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been publicly released pending notification of family members.


Conversely, the 33-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer, hailing from Springfield, Oregon, survived the collision. He was transported to the hospital for medical attention and later discharged following treatment.


The investigation continues to find the causes and contributing factors behind this collision.
