Thursday, June 30, 2022 - Winnipeg Police reported two stabbings Wednesday night in the city that are believed to be on related.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to a serious assault near Spence Street and Ellice Avenue.

Police were contacted about a group of males assaulting a male by kicking him in the head and then fleeing on foot.

Officers administered emergency medical care to an adult male who had been stabbed and had upper-body injuries. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later upgraded to stable.

Two suspects were located and taken into custody.

24-year-old Aaron David WOODHOUSE of Winnipeg was charged with Aggravated Assault and detained in custody.

30 year old, Troy William MASTERS of Winnipeg was charged with:

- Aggravated Assault

- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon Knowing its Poss is Unauthorized

- Failing to Comply with Release Order

He was detained in custody.

A second stabbing on Wednesday happened just after 11:00 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service was contacted about an adult male stabbed outside a vendor in the 800 block of Main Street.

Police located an injured male in his forties lying inside the adjoining bar room. Emergency medical care was provided, and the victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.

The victim related he was going to the vendor when he was confronted by more than one suspect demanding his baseball cap. He was subsequently bear-maced in the face and stabbed in his upper body. The suspects took his hat and fled on foot.
