Winnipeg, April 14, 2024 - In the early hours of Saturday, April 13, 2024, and again on today, Sunday, April 14, Winnipeg Police responded to two separate stabbing incidents.

The first incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. on Saturday, with police responding to the 600 block of Main Street about a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found an adult female suffering from multiple injuries. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transported to the hospital in unstable condition. Fortunately, her condition later improved to stable.

Today, shortly after midnight, police were called to the 1000 block of St. James Street after receiving reports of a fight and stabbing. Tactical Support Team (TST) members were also deployed to the scene. They discovered an adult male victim with a serious lower-body injury. Emergency medical aid was administered, including the application of a tourniquet, before the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His condition was later upgraded to stable. Another adult male sustained injuries during the same altercation, though his wounds were deemed non-life-threatening.

Police are saying both incidents involved altercations between groups of individuals, resulting in severe injuries. The Major Crimes Unit is actively pursuing leads and conducting interviews to ascertain further details.
