Winnipeg, April 3, 2024: The tranquility of a weekday morning in Osborne Street was shattered yesterday when the Winnipeg Police responded to a distress call from the Burger King restaurant at approximately 10:00 a.m. What they encountered upon arrival was a scene of chaos and violence.

On scene police found a 45-year-old male victim who had sustained a severe injury to the upper body in what is believed to be a targeted assault. The suspect, identified as someone known to the victim, had already fled the scene by the time law enforcement arrived.

In a release to media, police said the witnesses reported a tense atmosphere in the area following the assault, with many expressing shock and disbelief at the violence that unfolded in broad daylight.
