Winnipeg, December 1, 2023 - Winnipeg Police are seeking the public's help after a violent stabbing occurred on Wednesday, November 29, shortly before 9 pm. Police said a female victim was stabbed and is in critical condition. The Winnipeg Police responded, but a male suspect who absconded on foot, lead police to launch a manhunt across the city.

The victim, an adult female employee of the store, was ruthlessly attacked by the assailant after he brazenly entered the establishment, selecting various items without any intention of payment. The suspect's callous disregard for the law quickly escalated to a confrontation with the employee, resulting in a vicious stabbing that targeted her upper body.

Responding officers provided crucial emergency medical aid to the victim by applying a chest seal before she was promptly taken to a nearby hospital. Initially in unstable condition, the victim's status has since been upgraded to stable.

The suspect, described as a white male in his mid to late twenties, stands at an approximate height of 6 feet with a slender build. Witnesses recall his distinctive features, including medium-length hair, glasses, and his attire—a dark grey hoodie paired with a blue puffy vest—painting a picture that law enforcement hopes will aid in his swift apprehension.

Winnipeg Police urge anyone with pertinent details or sightings of the suspect to come forward and assist in this ongoing investigation. Please contact the service at 204-986-6219. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be relayed to Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477), with the assurance of confidentiality.
