Winnipeg, February 23, 2024 - The Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit is intensifying its efforts to solve the tragic death of 19-year-old River Harper, who was discovered deceased in an apartment located in the 300 block of Assiniboine Avenue on February 7, 2024. The case, now officially classified as a homicide, has left the community in shock and mourning.

Since taking over the investigation, authorities have been diligently pursuing leads to shed light on the circumstances surrounding Harper's untimely demise. Despite rigorous investigative efforts, crucial pieces of the puzzle remain missing, prompting law enforcement to turn to the public for assistance.


In a recent development, the Winnipeg Police Service released surveillance images depicting two individuals believed to be connected to the case. Descriptions of the suspects have also been provided to aid in their identification and apprehension.


Suspect #1: This individual is described as approximately 5’6” to 5’8” tall with a thin to medium build. He sports a dark moustache and beard or goatee, distinguishing features that could aid in his recognition.

Suspect #2: The second individual stands between 5’10” to 6” in height, boasting a medium to large build and possessing black shoulder-length hair, serving as a potential identifier in the ongoing investigation.

The Winnipeg Police Service is urging anyone with pertinent information regarding the identity or whereabouts of these individuals to come forward.
