Winnipeg, April 5, 2024 - The Winnipeg Police have been investigating a tragic shooting that happened on September 10, 2023, on the 200 block of College Avenue. Police have identified a suspect in connection with the deaths of Daniel Raymond Garvey-Rodriquez, 25, and Edgar Allan Bear, 56, both of whom lost their lives in separate incidents.


According to the latest update from the Winnipeg Police, Maxim Dale Garneau, 27, has been named as the prime suspect in both shootings. Garneau is wanted on two charges of Second Degree Murder. Police urge the public not to approach Garneau, as he is considered to be dangerous.


One incident unfolded on September 10, 2023, at approximately 6:45 p.m., when Winnipeg Police responded to reports of a male who had been shot in the vicinity of an apartment building. The victim, later identified as Daniel Raymond Garvey-Rodriquez, was found outside the building suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries.


The police had previously reported on the tragic death of Edgar Allan Bear, 56, in a separate incident. However, police have clarified that the two incidents are not believed to be related.


The Winnipeg Police Service is urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Maxim Dale Garneau to come forward. Individuals can contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508.
