Winnipeg, March 30, 2024 - The Winnipeg Police have issued a public appeal for information leading to the whereabouts of Dyson Irvin Sumner, 28, wanted for second-degree murder. This comes in the wake of an ongoing investigation into the death of Murdo Baker, 24, whose lifeless body was discovered in an apartment suite on Main Street earlier this month.


On March 19, at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man at an apartment building in the 800 block of Main Street. Upon arrival, police located the individual, identified as Murdo Baker, who was transported to a nearby hospital. Tragically, Baker was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.


Homicide investigators, spearheading the inquiry, have since confirmed the victim's identity as 24-year-old Murdo Baker. Originally hailing from South Indian Lake but residing in Winnipeg at the time of his passing, Baker's family has been notified of the tragic event.


Winnipeg Police are seeking Dyson Irvin Sumner, aged 28, in connection with the incident. Sumner is considered dangerous, and authorities advise against any attempt to make contact with him.
