Winnipeg, December 12, 2023 - In a significant development regarding the tragic murder of 27-year-old Lawrence Evan Pruden on November 5th of this year, the Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit has made headway in the case. A suspect has been charged in connection to the incident that resulted in Pruden's untimely death.


The incident, which occurred at around 1:00 a.m. in the 1800 block of Portage Avenue, involved the fatal shooting of Pruden and another 30-year-old male victim as they exited an establishment. The assailants fled the scene in a vehicle, triggering an extensive investigation.


The Winnipeg Police has now announced the arrest and charging of 23-year-old Nathaniel Gatehouse-Gilchrist in relation to the murder. Gatehouse-Gilchrist faces serious charges that include Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder. He is currently in custody.


However, this development also sheds light on an ongoing search for another suspect involved in the case. Identified as Bryce William Walker, a 21-year-old man, Walker is wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder charges. Descriptions provided by authorities indicate Walker stands approximately 5’5” in height, weighing around 140 lbs. It is strongly advised not to approach him, as he may be armed and dangerous.
