Winnipeg Fire Crews Were Busy Due to Residential Fires caused Accidentally


Wednesday, August 2, 2023 - WInnipeg Fire crews were busy last night dealing with three residential fires, all believed to be accidentally caused.


Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said the first residential call was at 9:57 p.m. on Tuesday, when they responded to a fire in a three-storey apartment building on Corydon Avenue.


Paramedics assessed one patient on scene but there was no need to take the patient to the hospital.


Preliminary observations suggest the cause of the fire was accidental and related to cooking.


The second was a fire reported on at a residence on Miravista Drive at 1:15 a.m. this morning.

A Winnipeg Fire release indicated that all occupants safely self-evacuated before crews arrived.

The third was a two-storey complex on Hastings Boulevard at 5:20 a.m.


Preliminary observations suggest the cause of the fire was accidental and related to improper disposal of smoking materials.
