Winnipeg, March 8, 2024 - The Winnipeg Jets have made a significant acquisition, announcing today the acquisition of forward Tyler Toffoli from the New Jersey Devils. In exchange, the Jets have parted with their third-round selection in the 2024 NHL Draft and their second-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft. As part of the trade, the Devils will retain 50% of Toffoli's contract.

Toffoli, 31, has been a notable presence on the ice, amassing 44 points (26 goals, 18 assists) in 61 games with the Devils this season. His recent performance has been particularly impressive, with 15 points, including 10 goals, in his last 18 games.

Originally drafted in the second round (47th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in 2010, Toffoli boasts an extensive NHL career, appearing in 794 games and accumulating 510 points (253 goals, 257 assists) with the Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, and Devils. His standout season came last year with the Flames, where he achieved career highs with 73 points (34 goals, 39 assists) in 82 games. Prior to his NHL tenure, Toffoli honed his skills in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Ottawa 67’s, where he amassed 333 points (163 goals, 170 assists) in 252 games. His exceptional performance in the OHL earned him recognition as he led the league in goals and was selected as a first-team all-star in 2011 and 2012.

On the international stage, Toffoli represented Canada at the 2015 and 2023 World Championships, securing gold medals in both tournaments.
