Winnipeg, March 19, 2024 - The Winnipeg Police responded to a residence on Selkirk Avenue yesterday following the discovery of a deceased male. Identified as Edgar Allan Bear, 56 years old and a member of the Peguis First Nation residing in Winnipeg, the circumstances surrounding his death have prompted an ongoing investigation by the Homicide Unit.


Police said officers arrived at the scene around 4:40 p.m., where they found Bear's lifeless body. The exact nature of his death remains undisclosed as investigators work to unravel the circumstances leading to his passing. The residence has been cordoned off, with the scene preserved for further examination and processing.


The Homicide Unit is asking the public for any potential leads or information that could aid in the investigation.
