Winnipeg Police Investigating Late Stabbing Near Isabel Street


Winnipeg, November 18, 2023 — A late-night altercation turned violent last night in the 100 block of Isabel Street. Winnipeg Police said the incident, involving a stabbing, happened at approximately 11:50 p.m.


Responding to reports of a male victim who had suffered severe injuries from a stabbing police found a 40-year-old man with serious injuries inflicted by the assailants. Officers administered emergency medical care, applying a tourniquet to stem the bleeding, and expediting the victim's transport to the hospital. Initially unstable, the victim underwent immediate surgery and has since stabilized.


The circumstances surrounding the assault point to the Balmoral Street/Isabel Street vicinity occurred by unidentified suspects who fled the scene before police arrival. It is believed that the wounded victim sought aid at a nearby retail establishment.


The Major Crimes Unit has taken charge of the investigation.
