Winnipeg Police Notice an Early Morning Drug Deal


Tuesday, December 13, 2022 - Monday shortly after 10:30 a.m., two WInnipeg Police members spotted two men at the rear of a business on St. Mary’s Road making, what they thought, was a drug deal.


One of the men drove away before his vehicle could be identified, and the other man entered a nearby running vehicle. The suspect then exited the vehicle and placed something in the backseat.


He was subsequently taken into custody, and the following items were seized during the investigation:


- 20 grams of cocaine (estimated street value of $2,000)

- 30 Percocet pills (estimated street value of $150)

- $9,500 Canadian currency


A 20-year-old male of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:


- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine

- Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking

- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000


He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
