WInnipeg, March 6, 2024 - Winnipeg, MB - A snowfall warning has been issued for Winnipeg and City crews are gearing up for the forecasted snowfall expected to hit the city in the coming hours. City officials stated that they are closely monitoring road conditions and are prepared to respond promptly.


Preventive measures are in place, with crews ready to apply sand and/or salt to improve roadway traction as necessary. Further decisions regarding snow clearing will be made based on the amount of snowfall experienced.


Authorities have issued a cautionary advisory to motorists, urging them to adjust their driving to suit the conditions and exercise extreme caution when near heavy equipment being used for snow removal.


In addition, residents are reminded of the annual winter route parking ban, which is currently in effect. Parking is prohibited on streets designated as winter routes between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. Violators risk being ticketed and having their vehicles towed to a compound.
