Winnipeg Woman Shot on Furby Street - Suspect at Large


A Winnipeg woman was shot on Thursday night, Winnipeg Police are searching for a suspect.

Winnipeg, January 13, 2024 - Winnipeg Police responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Furby Street on Thursday. Police said they received reports of an adult female victim suffering from a gunshot wound around 6:50 p.m.


General Patrol officers, backed by members of the Tactical Support Team, were sent to the scene where they discovered a 48-year-old female with a gunshot wound to her upper body. Officers administered immediate emergency medical care by applying a chest seal. The victim was rushed to hospital, initially in unstable condition, but fortunately, her condition later improved to stable.


The suspect had already fled on foot from the scene prior to the arrival of police. No arrests have been made as of now.


The Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation into this shooting.


Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist the investigation. Winnipeg Police Service has set up a dedicated hotline for this purpose.
