WITNESSES INJURED WITH A WEAPON DURING A WINNIPEG ASSAULT


Wednesday, July 13, 2022 - Winnipeg Police reported that a woman was injured during an assault on Monday night.


Just after 9:00 pm., Police responded to Balmoral Street for the reported assault.


When police arrived they found two injured individuals and began administering medical care. A female in her 50s was taken to a hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable condition. A male in his 50s was also taken to a hospital in stable condition.


Police believe that the two victims were bystanders in the area when they witnessed a female suspect attempting to rob an elderly lady. The pair intervened and were assaulted (with a weapon) by the suspect – with both victims suffering significant injuries.


No arrest was made and the incident is being investigated by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
