Teen Girl Dies After Stabbing Incident in Downtown Winnipeg

Winnipeg, December 16, 2023 - In broad daylight on December 15, a female youth lost her life after being stabbed in the 200 block of Graham Avenue. The Winnipeg Police responded to the distress call at approximately 1:00 p.m., but despite their efforts, the young victim could not be saved.

Foot Patrol members arrived promptly to find a female youth suffering from severe injuries inflicted during the stabbing. These dedicated officers wasted no time in providing emergency medical care, applying a chest seal to the victim, while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, was rushed to hospital in critical condition. Medical professionals immediately began emergency surgery in an attempt to save her life. Tragically, despite their best efforts, the young girl succumbed to her injuries, marking a heartbreaking loss for her family and the entire community.

The suspect or suspects responsible for managed to flee the scene before the police arrived, leaving behind a distraught community and a grieving family. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit has taken charge of the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the search for those responsible continues.
