Winnipeg, December 2, 2023 - Manitoba's beloved holiday tradition, Winter Wonderland, has returned once again to captivate families and friends with its dazzling lights and festive cheer. As the province's longest drive-thru light show, this enchanting spectacle promises affordable and magical moments for all.
From December 1, 2023, through to January 6, 2024, excluding the festive closure on December 25th, Exhibition Park's West Gate at 3977 Portage Ave welcomes visitors to immerse themselves in over one million twinkling lights spread across the park's 2.5 km route.
"Experience the magic of the season from the warmth of your vehicle," encourages the event organizers. "This year, prepare to be amazed by over 30 brand-new light displays and several delightful surprises strategically nestled throughout Red River Exhibition Park."
Beyond the visual feast of lights, Winter Wonderland offers more than just a drive-thru spectacle. Families can revel in outdoor photo opportunities, glide under the stars during outdoor pond skating (available weather permitting), and savor warm drinks and delicious treats from various food stands.
"For an immersive experience, tune in to our exclusive on-park radio station at 101.1 FM," recommends the event team. "Let the custom holiday programming perfectly complement the stunning views."
Every Wednesday evening, the first 100 cars receive complimentary 3D glasses, adding an extra layer of dazzle to the already mesmerizing light displays. Weekends bring the charm of classic hayrides, available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, allowing visitors to embrace the spirit of the season aboard horse-drawn hayrides through Exhibition Park.
Tickets, starting at $20 (inclusive of tax, plus applicable service fees), are now available online or can be purchased in person at select locations across Winnipeg, including Canad Inns Winnipeg Destination Centres, Giant Tiger, Valu-Lots, and Northern Store locations.
General tickets grant admission for one personal, non-commercial passenger vehicle accommodating up to seven individuals. For larger groups or commercial vehicles, separate rates are available and can be purchased at the entrance gate atop Festival Drive.
