Winnipeg, January 18, 2024 - Manitoba's Progressive Conservatives have announced Wayne Ewasko as their interim leader, succeeding Heather Stefanson.
Ewasko, a former education minister first elected in 2011, will lead the party until a scheduled leadership convention in the fall. Stefanson had resigned Monday.
The party also introduced several changes to its leadership contest rules that included a new point system with a sliding scale, which party officials claim will mitigate the influence of constituencies with substantial membership numbers.
