Winnipeg, May 5, 2024 - Two teenage girls have been detained in connection with a homicide in a small Manitoba community. The Chemawawin RCMP were called to a home in Easterville around 1:45 AM after reports of a disturbance were made.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old woman in critical condition. Despite the immediate medical attention provided by Emergency Medical Services, she tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene. A second victim, a 35-year-old woman, was found nearby with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
The RCMP have detained two female youths, ages 14 and 13, on charges related to this homicide. Police have not yet released the names of those involved as the investigation continues. The motive behind the disturbance and subsequent violence has not been disclosed.
The RCMP is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward to assist with the case.
