Winnipeg, April 23, 2024 - Road closures are scheduled once again in Downtown Winnipeg due to anticipated of the Whiteout Street Party. Beginning Tuesday, April 23 at 9 a.m., southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue will be inaccessible until approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24. Likewise, Graham Avenue in both directions between Hargrave Street and Smith Street will close from 9 a.m. on Tuesday until about 1 a.m. the following day.


Pedestrians will also face disruptions, with sidewalks along Donald Street and the north side of Graham Avenue shutting down at noon on Tuesday and reopening overnight into Wednesday.


To navigate these closures, motorists are advised to factor in extra travel time and explore alternative routes such as Main Street and Osborne Street. Real-time updates on lane closures are available through the City of Winnipeg website and the Waze app.


Winnipeg Transit services will be rerouted off Graham Avenue between Kennedy and Smith starting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Regular service will resume by Wednesday. During this time, bus stops at designated intersections will accommodate affected passengers.


For those relying on Winnipeg Transit Plus, temporary loading zones will be set up along Portage Avenue, near the Radisson Hotel, and on Hargrave Street, among other locations.


The Millennium Library will close early at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, while the Millennium Library Parkade's Donald Street entrance and exit will be inaccessible from 9 a.m. on Tuesday until approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
