Winnipeg, April 29, 2024 - On the afternoon of April 28, a 16-year-old survived a train collision in Winnipeg behind the 2400 block of Pembina Highway. Emergency services responded to the call around 4:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, responders found themselves in a race against time as they attended to a 16-year-old male who had sustained severe injuries from the impact. The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service were already on scene, providing crucial emergency medical care to the young victim. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.
Winnipeg Police report that the teenager's condition has since been upgraded to stable.
Both the Winnipeg Police and C.N. Police, are actively investigating the incident. Initial assessments suggest that this was accidental in nature.
