Three people arrested for a Monday morning shooting

Winnipeg, April 15, 2025 - Early in the morning on Monday April 15, Winnipeg Police responded to a call from a Winnipeg hospital. A 56-year-old man had arrived with a grave injury, the result of a gunshot wound sustained earlier that night.


According to police, the victim had ventured to an address in the 800 block of William Avenue, seeking the company of a friend. However, upon knocking at the door, the situation took a violent turn as gunfire erupted, causing severe harm to the victim's upper body. Subsequently, the wounded individual managed to flee the scene and seek medical attention.


In a coordinated effort, police descended upon the vicinity of the incident where they apprehended two suspects, a male and a female, as they exited the premises. A third suspect, an adult male, initially remained inside the residence before being safely detained.


At approximately 1:10 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at the aforementioned address. Their search yielded evidence in the form of a modified rifle and a magazine loaded with ammunition.


Subsequently, the Winnipeg Police identified and charged three individuals in connection with the shooting incident. Addison Jay Laroque, 25, Peyton Gott, 23, and Summer Young, 20, face a litany of charges, including but not limited to discharging a restricted firearm with intent, assault with a weapon, and various firearm-related offenses.
