Winnipeg Police respond to a fatal shooting on Flora Avenue

Winnipeg, April 29, 2024 - On Friday evening, April 26, Winnipeg Police responded to a shooting that claimed the life of 28-year-old Bill Brian Duck, a member of the God's Lake Narrows First Nation.


According to Police, the shooting happened around 8:45 p.m. in the 600 block of Flora Avenue. Upon arrival officers located Mr. Duck at a nearby residence, suffering from a serious gunshot wound.


Mr. Duck was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but ultimately died from his injuries. Police said Bill Brian Duck, a member of the God's Lake Narrows First Nation, had been living in Winnipeg at the time of the incident.


The police are now appealing to the public for any information that could aid in their investigation. They are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may have witnessed the incident or have home surveillance footage that could provide valuable clues.
